Some messages should not outlive the moment they are read. Burn Note turns your message into a link that can be opened once, then destroys it.

How it works in 3 steps

    Encrypted in your browser. The key is kept in the link, not on our server.

  2. 2.Send the link to one person

    Use any app. Opening the link alone does not reveal or delete the note.

  3. 3.They click Open Note

    The note is shown once and deleted from the server right away.

Before you paste a secret

  • No account and no recovery: if the note is lost, it is gone.
  • Unread notes expire automatically, from read-once (7 days) up to 30 days.
  • A destroyed page means the note was opened or expired — Burn Note cannot tell which.

Password Protection

Clicking the button generates a URL containing the encryption key. No plaintext or keys are ever stored on the server.

How a self-destructing message works

  • You write the message and it is encrypted in your browser.
  • You send the link through any app — chat, SMS, or email.
  • The recipient opens the link, reads the message, and it is deleted from the server.

When to use one

  • Personal information such as addresses, ID numbers, or bank details.
  • Wi-Fi passwords, door codes, and one-time recovery codes.
  • Anything you would not want to remain in a chat log.

FAQ

Can the recipient save the message?
Burn Note cannot stop someone from copying text or taking a screenshot. What it does is delete the note from the server when it is opened and never store anything the server can read.
Does the recipient need an app?
No. The link opens in any modern web browser.
